World Information Architecture Day is dedicated to the empowerment of local leaders. Our celebrations inspire the global growth of information architecture as a community of practice and we value diverse thoughts and thinkers in our celebrations. World IA Day is jointly produced by a network of global, regional, and local volunteers.
WIAD celebrations are carefully planned locally and coordinated by global volunteers as a concerted event around the world. The content and design of each WIAD celebration is unique.
WIAD events can take the form of any presentation format, from speaker sessions to interactive workshops, pecha kucha, and demonstrations. They can cover any range of industries as long as it highlights the use and or importance of information architecture and the global theme.
A WIAD event is organized by volunteers from the local community. Its goal is to spark and inspire conversation and build community.
A WIAD event is not an industry or marketing conference. It is not used to sell or market products or services
A WIAD event cannot be used to raise money.
A WIAD event cannot partner with another event or conference.
A WIAD event is not a platform for professional speakers, such as motivational speakers and professional life coaches. Its purpose is to give a platform to those who don’t often have one.
A WIAD event is not focused solely on entrepreneurship, business, or technology. A diversity of topics is important for building inclusion.
